Where do I upload sitemap.xml?

Upload it to the root folder of your website (public_html on Hostinger) so it opens at https://yourwebsite.com/sitemap.xml, then submit that URL in Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools.

Do changefreq and priority help?

Google says it ignores changefreq and priority. lastmod is used when it is accurate. You can still add them for other search engines.

I use WordPress. Do I need this?

Yoast SEO and Rank Math already create a sitemap. Use this tool for custom PHP or HTML websites, or to compare what your plugin includes.
